The game begins in 2277, 200 years after the Great War. Leaving the only home you’ve ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. The residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. I understand a smaller window can help performance, but that was never an issue.“ For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of the Capital Wasteland. Once set back to 1280x720, or 1920x1080 it would freeze like before. (Originally it would freeze instantly upon entering the room, after the clean sweep it would last nearly a minuet inside the room.) At least for longer than several minuets, before exiting. While testing for the "Block of Color" thing, I set the windowed mode resolution down to 1280x720 (previously it was set to 1440x810) and that- somehow- kept it from freezing. As far as I know that shouldn't matter anymore. I did use the 4gb patch.exe previously, on the old Fallout3.exe before the clean wipe to see if it would help. dll files you mentioned within my /Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 3 goty folder. (Which it was set to previously before the clean sweep in a previous vain attempt.) Also Fallout3.exe is set to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3). There were none, and even if there were, wouldn't it also occur outside of that one cell?įallout3.exe, FalloutLauncher.exe and fose_loader.exe all run as administrator already. I tried looking for some 'Block of Colour' over your item pip icons, you mentioned. (When in that room.) I installed it to test if a clean install with FOSE would help, and it did not. I am using the Fallout Script Extender currently, however it still froze when tested prior to installing it. ![]() Only the Fallout3.esm and other DLC.esms. I could pass the vault with 200+ mods and plugins, so can you. Overall just looks like a drain of memory on the surface of your few lines of words, a small conflict between fo3 and your mods. I) use FOMM to activate and deactivate, to troubleshoot your downloaded mod to see which conflicts, if u been using other Mod Loaders. 'Wiping' all fo3 files, there are always residues, you arent aware in the admin, user and document files, you may still be using the 'old' configs on your 'new' install. H) download from one of the posts, a google document of F03 preset 'init' file. G) set UAC permission, allow admin rights on all executable, fose/ F03/ Launcher. If you didn't, start by troubleshoot your settings, init files, 'supposed' helpful mods', if you are indeed playing on a clean installation.ī) ' Disable Process Windows Ghosting.dll '.Į) ' sr Fallout Stutter Removal.dll ' ( all above proven to work)į) 'nvac.dll ' < ( not too sure if its even working ) If you did, its due to conflicts of mods/graphic. A fix would be ideal.)ġ001 and reasons for crash, and always have to do with 'your system' and 'mods'.ĭo u see any 'Block of Colour' over your item pip icons within your inventory, (It's possible I could use commands to circumvent that room and play on from there, but I might still have trouble later on from whatever the problem is. Can't pinpoint what in that room is the issue.Īny ideas what is causing it or how to fix it? Doesn't always freeze in the same place though. However, this time (using the same clean save from earlier) I can walk around freely for about a minuet in the room before it freezes. Use a DIFFERENT "Windows Live" bug fix to get the game going, and it STILL freezes in that single cell. Uninstall FO3, delete any Fallout3 folders on my comp, everything. (Which is still inside the "Vault 101 Entrance" cell) And sure enough, it freezes too. The save is right outside the door out into the Capital Wasteland. I uninstalled all my mods and used a clean save file I downloaded online. None of them solve it, and it's ALWAYS that one room. So I go through several tutorials to make FO3 more stable. (The kind of freezes where the ambience/music continue to play.) Have to kill the program. (Mods including that which fix alot of bugs already.)Įverything goes fine with my new save file until I get to the "Vault 101 Entrance" cell on my way out in the beginning.įreezes. I install it, hurtle over the "Windows Live" bug, get FOSE, and several mods on Vortex. ![]()
